Our History

Chartered June 10, 2014, the Rotaract Club of the Fraser Valley, or RCFV, was formed after a group of passionate individuals wanted to give back to their communities.

RCFV is sponsored by 5 Rotary Clubs which are: Rotary Club of Abbotsford Sumas, Rotary Club of Meadow Ridge, Rotary Club of Haney, Rotary Club of Mission AM, and the Rotary Club of Mission Midday.

Our Story

After many of our chartering members attended the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards in 2014, they were inspired to become a positive change throughout the Fraser Valley.

Since chartering, we have focused primarily on local initiatives. Being situated in three different communities has allowed us to give back to so many. Whether it is hands on volunteering, promotion and awareness, or fundraising, we are dedicated and enthusiastic individuals.

We currently has a membership base of about 15 - a mix of young professionals and post-secondary students.

Brenna Hay

Elicia Peterson

Vice President

Alex Carmichael

Alex holds a position on our executive board as our club secretary.

Her involvement with Rotary started when she attended YAIL at the age of 15. Since then, Alex has had the opportunity to participate in RYLA and return to both programs as a facilitator, in addition to facilitating RMYIS last November.

She was on board for starting our club after facilitating RYLA in 2014. There, she met some awesome like-minded people who wanted to start bringing about change in their communities.

Phoenix MacLaren

After attending RYLA in 2014, Phoenix was re-energized to be involved in her local and global community. Volunteering has been a large aspect of Phoenix's life, and she is very honoured to be part of such a special group of individuals who share the same interests.

Adam Hill

Matthew Baillie

Past President

Matt joined us in 2014, shortly after we chartered.

Matt's resume with Rotary is impressive, having attended RYLA as both a participant and facilitator, in addition to facilitating YAIL. After finding out our club had come to fruition, Matt jumped at the opportunity to join.

Outside of Rotaract, Matt is currently taking on an Electrical Apprenticeship.

In his free time, Matt enjoys staying active. Whether rock climbing or going on adventures, he is always on the go.
